Asking for Help – Kevin Hackett

One of the aspects of Christian life that I find so intriguing and reassuring is the frank recognition of weakness and failure as a normative.  Not desirable, perhaps, but certainly normative.  In the Scriptures, God has given an ideal which is held before us, a standard to which we aspire, but there is also the pragmatic recognition that we will miss the mark much of the time, maybe most of the time, and that we will need help in order to be and do what we and God most deeply desire.
